Tibetan Youth Storm Chinese Embassy in London
A protest will take place this afternoon outside the Chinese embassy in London to protest the crackdown by the Chinese government on Tibetan demonstrators. We're on the lookout for photos of the event.

Tibetan protesters will start a hunger strike outside the Chinese Embassy in London, campaigners said on Monday.

Hundreds of demonstrators are expected outside the embassy later on Monday afternoon, to coincide with the deadline imposed by China for those involved in last week's violent clashes in Tibet to hand themselves into authorities.

While Chinese officials claim just over a dozen people have died since Friday's protests, exiled representatives of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India, put the protest death toll closer to 80.

Hello Dave,

With quite a few Now Public reporters covering the Tibetan protest, it's easily seen why this story is so important.  I also covered it today.

I hope somehow as a collective, we can keep the public's focus on China - perhaps we really can make a difference in the news reporting world.

My personal advice is not to attend the Olympic Games.  Show how you feel about murdered bloggers, censorship and the incessant jailing of people who have committed NO crimes.

There are more, but I guess they've disappeared off the front page at the moment.  Hopefully they'll appear again today.
