You know the world is going to hell in a handbasket, when PETA to elicit sympathy for slaughtered animals, uses the McLean Family in a derogatory way adding further suffering by Peta monopolizing on the McLean Massacre by comparing a human life to an animal life, all to elicit sympathy, not for the Victim of a vicious beheading, but sympathy they hope to get in fundraising for the ethical treatment of animals.

PETA, that Animal loving organization, who like the Religious Zealots in my other story, see an opportunity to capitalize on the death of a young man and add further grief to the McLean family.

Certainly when you read this, you may want to rethink your stance on an organization which compares the throat slashing of a young man to a common hog.

PETA Pam Anderson, a Canadian must be certainly proud of herself for aligning herself with such a fine organization which clearly has no love for humankind.

Certainly if there is a lawsuit pending, I would hope the McLean family act on it pronto and put this Ghoulish organization out of business as they clearly have no love for humankind.

PETA ad slammed Compares beheading to slaughter of animals

By ROB NAY, SUN MEDIA

An animal rights group attempted to purchase an ad in a Sun Media-owned newspaper which compares the beheading of Tim McLean Jr. to the slaughter of animals.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals officials hoped to run an ad this week in the Portage Daily Graphic that uses lines such as, "An innocent young victim's throat is cut" and "The man with the knife shows no emotion."

The description leads the reader to believe it's describing McLean's death aboard a Greyhound bus last week about 20 km west of Portage la Prairie.

Only later is it revealed the ad is referring to the slaughterhouse treatment of animals.

"We're really challenging everyone who was shocked by this horrendous crime against Tim McLean to go to our website and see for themselves that animals every day go through exactly what he went through," PETA spokeswoman Lindsay Rajt told the Winnipeg Sun yesterday.

Barry Clayton, publisher for the Portage Daily Graphic, said the ad would not appear in his newspaper. "It just seems they're trying to take that away from the light.

I know Tim loved animals ... but don't run something so gruesome with something else that's gruesome."

I would also like to direct Now Public readers to my next story on Religiuous Zealots, also monopolizing on the Death of Tim McLean, by stating Social mores,  pretty much Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll were the result of Tim McLeans untimely and gruesome demise, titled "GOD IS PUNISHING CANADA"!

very sad ... not even realizing they do great harm to their own cause ...

Actually, I think god is punishing us by making us share space with such lunkheads.

Barry Artiste

Thanks to you both for your comments, comparing a human life to a KFC chicken, shows PETA like all special interest groups certainly have a misplaced sense of Humanity, especially when they can recruit and dupe Celebs everywhere for their cause, I wonder if some Celebs will share in our outrage and drop PETA as fast as a Hunter, drops a Moose at 200 meters?

Bree

I think that anyone who is willing to compare a human's life to an animal's life is just sick and wrong; especially in this case.  This boy was brutally murdered in front of several others who could do nothing, but stand in horror as to the actions taking place.  I'm not saying that animals aren't important, but come on people.  Lets think for a second about the family who is hearing their loved one's life is no more important than an animal.  Have a little sympathy.

Just sad. When are they going to use the Holocaust to make a point about the slaughtering of animals? Have they already?

amyjudd

I would have thought that they would have more tact than that actually. I'm surprised at them. I have always supported everything they did - however this seems to be out of character for them.

Bohemian Moon

Simply beyond the pale.........I have no other words.

I don't eat meat.  Never liked it, and I feel bad for animals slaughtered BUT it's beyond sick and disgusting, that PETA would use the tragic death of Tim McLean to bring attention to their cause.  If they were as humane as they claim to be, they wouldn't have done this.  I hope someone in the McLean family has the mindset to get a lawsuit going, and use the money they would win, to setup a memorial for Tim.  RIP Tim

PETA is a radical organization and this distasteful display of insensitivity come as no surprise to me.  Pam Anderson likely honestly thinks PETA is doing good work but let's face it she is not paid for her cerebral dexterity.

For the second time tonight, I'm going to say GOOD LORD!  What the heck?

Peta claims that they're sensitive and all that - but then they do stuff like this and I think YEAH RIGHT.  You're no better than the rest of us.  This is an absolute tragedy (the man being killed) and this has nothing to do with you.  Making these kind of parallels is stupid and just as inhumane as the animals you're trying to show cruelty to.

*Rolls eyes* Anything for a moment in the spotlight.

I'd like to say Ignore them and they'll go away, but like flies to a corpse, PETA just keeps showing up and stooping lower into the rot.

Barry Artiste

Thanks Bree, Nuke, Vinny, BigT, Amy, Bohemian Moon, Gina218,  EastVan, Phoenix Rose,  Irene Brinson,  Chrisey, Tumi for all your  the comments and flag.

Certainly the comments by PhoenixRose, Irene and Tumi speaks for us all how we feel, and how PETA in their Quest to bring Animal Cruelty to the forefront went overboard by using the Death of Families child in such as way as to cause further grief, and had nothing to with Peta in the first place.  With having Grieving Family friends have to defend Tim saying Tim loves Animals, shows the unfeeling Peta, got the media response and attention they wanted, In my tribute to PETA, I would like to say, their heartlessness to grieving family shows what chicken shits PETA are, a bunch of Pot smoking Losers Chicken Shits, who should be put down and let someone else take up animal rights cause cause Clearly Peta may now get little sympathy from those they were trying to elicit, including me .

Barry says, "...comparing a human life to a KFC chicken, shows PETA like all special interest groups certainly have a misplaced sense of Humanity"

Perhaps PETA made a poor choice of time/place for this ad, but that does not invalidate the argument- Humanity means considering the suffering of others! Only predators such as a shark or pack of dogs (or the average in-human) cannot consider the suffering of their victims.

Nonviolence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all living beings, we are all savages.
-- Thomas Edison

Mankind's true moral test, its fundamental test (which lies deeply buried from view), consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals. And in this respect mankind has suffered a fundamental debacle, a debacle so fundamental that all others stem from it.

Again and again you fail to understand how men can be so cruel to each other, yet it was understood long ago...

The killing of Tim McLean is like something out of a horror movie isn't it? Sociologists have long theorized that horror movies are a device for people to explore their sublimated feelings about slaughter houses. Did not Kurt Vonnegut base his masterpiece 'Slaughterhouse Five' on an a war and a slaughterhouse?

"In relation to them, all people are Nazis; for the animals it is an eternal Treblinka."
--Isaac Bashevis Singer

"A lot of people who have watched the gore-fest that is this summer's Halloween get more squeamish when the young Michael Myers mutilates animals than they do when the killer graduates to human victims. Well, it so happens that this touches on one of PETA's major campaigns—to raise awareness about the well-documented link between cruelty to animals and crimes against humans."

“We at PETA would like to thank you for making clear in Halloween that people who commit acts of cruelty to animals are likely to move on to humans. Although audiences wince during scenes showing the young Michael Myers mutilating animals, following it up with the school counselor articulating how this is the first step to becoming a maniac was perfectly done. Hopefully, with the attention focused by your movie on this link between animal cruelty and human violence, more people will recognize the warning signs among people they know and deal with it more forcefully.”
--Dan Mathews - PETA

So you own a copy of Bartlett's Quotations.

Thanks for your comments Matt, I would like to draw your attention to the above persons (Save for the Buddhists), who most likely wore Leather shoes, owned leather briefcases, pens with feathered quills, their footprint in the house they inhabited surely displaced animals, as did clothing and top hats made of Rabbit fur, shall I go on.............?  As they were poets and artists, surely you do not believe them to be all Vegans, (save the Buddhists) ?

Adolf Hitler "a Vegan",  it is told and proven Adolf  loved German Shepherds, and Saddam Love Fluffy Persian Kittens!  Stalin loved lots of Animals, it was people he was paranoid of, killing a few million.  So with your analogy, they must be pretty great guys, after they loved Widdoe Puppies and fluffy Kittens? They just enjoyed butchering Jews, Gays, and who ever crossed their path, and IDI Amin, who loved dining on human flesh, loved Animals, and apparently Humans as well , though "Roasted" .

In ending Matt what your organization tried to do in Canada, before we stopped you, though it was allowed in the USA, before they stopped you, is not different than a Mike Myers Movie, "Both of you should be chained and dropped off a pier".

Jennifer M

Well said Matt!  Peta is not devaluing human life, but trying to draw connections between all life, whether it be human or not.  All life is precious, and should be valued and respected.  R.I.P Tim.

Barry Artiste

Thank you Jennifer for your comments, but you should know, though all life if precious, Tim was precious to his family and friends and did not need PETA monopolizing on a young man's death, causing further spotlight on the family who clearly want to grieve privately and no witness further grief by an organization such as PETA displaying ad on TV and the papers to make their Animal Rights point, when the point is clearly a Victims Rights to Privacy Point.

Thanks for visiting Jennifer, much appreciated, and yes, all life should be valued..

Irene Brinson

Matt, ignorance has nothing to do with valuing the life of a young man over that of a chicken.  Man is an omnivorous creature, meaning man requires a little bit of all kinds of food to survive and that includes more than carrots and tofu.

Its amazing how all the maggots seem to magically appear when a life is ended.

Chrisey

I have to say that Iam not impressed with PETA at all!!! I see where they are coming from in alot of different aspects and I have agreed with PETA and strongely believed in what they were doing, but in this case...they have made themselves out to be the bad guys, and that is exactly what they are. This add was completly uncalled for and unacceptable.  Dont get me wrong, all life should be valued, human or not but the fact that they would even compare this horrible and tragic happening to the slaughter of animals is revolting. I just wish that for a second the person who came up with this add would sit back and put themselves in the position of this poor young mans family. Im sorry, but if that was my brother or son the last thing I would be thinking about is... well it could have been my dog. This is in no way, shape or form even comparable to the slaughter of animals. This is a human being we're talking about! I just am completely astonished that there was no contact made with this young mans family on PETA's behalf to see if it was even remotely alright to do such a horrible thing as trying to print this add. Not impressed at all!! Any respect I had for PETA has been thrown out the door.

The whole PETA members need to rethink their whole mission and goals. Ingrid Newkirk needs to read this...how would you feel if one of your loved ones was the one slaughter in a horrible way like that...and you now have the audacity to compare a Tim's life to a KFC chicken. The young man had a bright future and a man with no mercy murdered him.  Ingrid needs to be put in a den of lions and see if the lions will have mercy on her. You guys are carnivores. Hope someone tells the PETA get what they deserve. The government needs to close down the company they are just people with no souls. May the good Lord pass judgment on them. May Tim's soul rest in peace and my sympathy to his family. They must be overwhelmed by all this craziness.

WOW!.... That ad is wrong on so many levels. So Peta values the feelings and life of a chicken, but they clearly dont give a crap about the feelings or life of a human being. To further their "goals" at a berieved families exspence is disgusting and soooo ignorant. they havnt won me over to their cause. Peta needs some lessons in class and respect....of the human kind.

Barry Artiste

Somehow I think they now know Pissed, thanks for dropping by.

Beheading is such henious crime a man will commit. noone is indespensable to do such acts comparable to insanity..

On the other hand, the nature of slaughterhouse killing animals is,too a horrifying crime. There are ways to treat..

Barry Artiste

Thank you Pinkberry for your comments and flag. Much appreciated

This is just sickening. The worthless pieces of trash who thought up this repulsive advertisement really are sub-human. Those filthbags should be fed, alive, to a pack of cougars. We'd see how much they cared about saving animals then!
