I like the idea that people lined the streets and cheered as Gabrielle Giffords made her way from Tucson to Houston today. If there is a chance the Congresswoman comprehended enthusiasm for her, that is a positive development.

However, it seems to me that it is time for private recovery and therapy. We don’t need to see news that Gabby scratched her head today or Gabby looked out the window. I think we should depend upon her husband to let the press know when new milestones are reached.

Give her a break.

Critical questions will come up eventually about whether she is able to complete her term. That may happen within several months as that would be reasonable.

TUCSON --Less than two weeks after she was shot in the head, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords left an Arizona hospital Friday to begin treatment at a Houston rehabilitation facility.”
