The US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has said Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who is facing charges of sexual assault, is obviously "not in a position to run" the International Monetary Fund. Mr. Geithner urged the IMF to formally designate an interim head. Mr. Strauss-Kahn is being detained at the infamous Rikers Island prison in New York for the attempted rape of an hotel maid. He denies the allegations. While this is the first time a top official from Obama's administration has publicly spoke of Mr. Strauss-Kahn, nothing was said about the case or the details of the charges.

Be nice to know if he was actually guilty before attempting further attacks on the man.

America has set a precedence, so its citizen no matter how high profile can be equally humiliated elsewhere when arrested, except if he has diplomatic Immunity.

There is a particular person who so enjoys a sense of empowerment by kicking a man when he's down. It's a mark of shame on the American psyche that such petty, and vindictive cowardice, has become the hallmark of our political and social behavior. Can we rise any lower? LOL.
