This year, Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks moves to the Hudson River in honor of Henry Hudson’s voyage 400 years ago.

New Yorkers who are living on the West Side and along the Hudson River are celebrating this rare opportunity to watch the show from the comfort of their apartments and buildings.

For the rest, there are some of prime places for visitors and New Yorkers and New Jersey residents to catch the show for free.  It is slated to start 9:20PM EST, even it rains.

New York City has been continually water-logged from rain and rainstorms therefore, any moment under the sun has become a premium for many to enjoy the outdoors.  It is hoped that the weather will remain dry.

These are suggested locations for those who want to watch the Macy's Fourth of July fireworks:

West Side Highway
People can choose from one of the many entrances below 59th Street along Eleventh Avenue.

De Witt Clinton Park
Eleventh to Twelfth Avenues between 52nd and 54th Streets.
The park is ideal for people to spread out on picnic blankets and watch the fireworks.

Piers 54 and 84
West Street and 13th Street and West Street and 44th Street. These two piers are apparently the only ones that Macy has recommended to people to  go for a clear view of its fireworks.

The fireworks show will be broadcast on WNBC, Channel 4, beginning at 9, with recorded and live music by the New York Pops as well as performances by the singer-songwriters Rob Thomas andJewel and the cast of the Broadway revival of “West Side Story.”

New Jersey residents will also have plenty of opportunities to watch from their front-row seats in Hoboken, Weehawken, North Bergen, and anywhere along the Hudson River.

Hoboken is bracing for an estimated 60,000 people to descend on the town for the spectacle.

The fireworks will be launched from six barges, floating in the middle of the Hudson River. On the New York side, they'll stretch from 19th to 59th streets. In New Jersey, that's parallel to the Hoboken/Jersey City border to just north of the ferry terminal in Weehawken.

Happy Fourth of July to American readers.  In the meantime, enjoy this slideshow of July 4th Celebration across the United States here, courtesy of the US government.

Good call, Jordan!

It's rather amusing that I've suddenly found myself with long lost "friends" who want to visit.  They have all developed this sudden interest as to whether or not, the building has a rooftop view of the Hudson River.

Thanks so much for your recommendation.
