Today In Dublin Protesters Marched Against Cuts As A Bail-Out Is
Update: Sunday 28 November 2010
The government has confirmed that the details of the financial bailout for the Republic Of Ireland will be announced at 18:15 today as it has been approved by the relevant European finance ministers.
This agreement comes a day after more than 60,000 people marched through the streets of Dublin to protest against the country's austerity budget.
Concerns have been raised by various commentators about the cost of the deal but a spokesman for the government has rejected claims that the overall interest rate would be as high as 6.7%. Unfortunately no one is inclined to believe any statement issued by the government so many people still believe that the interest rate could be too high.

Today thousands of people marched in protest against the Government's austerity program. The austerity package, announced on Wednesday, includes proposals to cut the minimum wage, slash the number of public sector jobs and increase taxes in order to save 15bn euros over the next four years.
The march began from Wood Quay shortly after 12 noon and the protestors made their way along the north quays to the General Post Office (GPO) on O'Connell Street.
The authorities claim that about 10,000 people started the march at Wood Quay but that the crowd swelled to around 50,000 as it moved down the north quays.
Organisers of the march claimed that the crowd was between 100,000 and 150,000 but I believe that the number was closer to 70,000.
A small group of around 350 protestors went to Leinster House after the march. There, fireworks were thrown at the police along with some snowballs and eggs. A poster with an image of Brian Cowen on it was set alight by a small group of protesters.
According to RTE, there was only one arrest.

I made a video why Ireland is not working featured on BogofAllen dot com its about how old thinking is running our society. The Bog of Allen is in the heartland of Ireland, the bog is very old but survives because of the strength of its ecosystem and its deep roots. It goes back to 200 ad in our cronicles. WE must move forward and embrace a new way of looking at things among this is retraining embracing new technology. The Dublin Web Summit was heralded as a great conference yet it used old technology. The theme of the video is "Wake Up Ireland" its addressed to all .
