“Israeli police raid Aqsa compound”

“Amnesty: the Zionist entity depriving Palestinians of water”

“More than 4500 Palestinian prisoner in 2009”

“Zionist Rabbis calls on Netanyahu government to close Al-Aqsa Masjid”

“At dawn: Zionist warplanes bombed a building southern Gaza Strip”

“Zionist settlers cut down 20 olive trees near Hebron”

And thousands of other similar headlines each and every day!

On Monday, October 26, 2009, Khaled Meshaal, the exiled leader of Hamas, called for a freeze on the Arab peace initiative with Israel in response to its brutal, inhuman action in the Aqsa Mosque. How many Arab leaders are deaf? How many can’t read? How many are too busy to answer Meshaal’s call? I’m still counting.

The world asks, “Where are Arabs?” I shall tell you where. The first party is getting drunk at nightclubs in Dubai, wandering at malls all over the world, dancing at the casinos of Beirut, stripping at the bars of Marbella, London and Paris, funding the wars on other Arabs, watching FRIENDS, or accusing each other of being nonbelievers.

The second party is thrown in prison because they tried to answer the cries of the Aqsa, feeling for the Aqsa but remaining silent since they can’t afford to lose their jobs or get harassed by the government, being brutally murdered and tortured by the Zionist enemy, or being oppressed and shushed by their illegal governments.

The third party—and the least crowded—was lucky enough to be able to act without being completely bashed by any government—not because some regime or government is so nice, but because this third party is patently and strongly resisting the regime’s attempts to bash them.

Today, the Damascus Film Festival was celebrated in Damascus, Syria. Do you think this is a good time for celebrating such events in the poor ole Middle East? The Holy Aqsa is almost getting burned down. Couldn’t the festival’s money save at least one wall of the Aqsa Mosque? Yes it could, but… alas, alas! What else can I say?

Now where exactly are Arab leaders? They don’t really exist! Well except for a handful of them—who are not being left alone. Once I witnessed a homosexual man ask a Muslim, “Will you kill me because I’m homosexual?” The Muslim replied, “The ruler must kill you.” Well, pardonnez-moi, the ruler himself must get killed! Homosexuality is nothing compared to the crimes the so-called Muslim rulers are committing.

Somewhere between September 14, 786 and March 24, 809, a man accused of theft was taken to Sultan Harun Al-Rashid. Sultan Al-Rashid quickly ordered his soldiers to cut the convict’s hand. A wise man called Wahab Ben Amr—aka Bohloul—intervened and said, “This man stole because he was hungry, and when hunger is the reason for people to steal, the Sultan’s neck must be cut and not the thief’s hand.” Immediately, Sultan Al-Rashid gave the convict some money and set him free.

Imagine now that some wise man would be crazy enough to go to some Arab so-called leader and say to him what Wahab Ben Amr said to Sultan Al-Rashid. Most likely the wise man will disappear in some political dungeon where he gets tortured to death. If Yusuf Abu Zuhri could speak in his grave, he’d tell the world why he got murdered in the most macabre of ways. He got murdered because he was a real hero… because he was a real Muslim and an honest Arab. I can bet that what soon will happen to Husni Barak—Mubarak—will definitely be more horrible than what happened years ago to Saddam Hussein.

Those so-called Arab leaders are busy helping the Zionist Uncle Sam murder Muslims and Arabs all over the world—in Pakistan, Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and almost on every land. They’re also busy teaching people how to hate Shiites… why? Because the Zionist Uncle Sam hates Shiite Muslims. Again, why? Because Shiite Muslims’ main goal in this life is Jihad—the Holy War—and the liberation of Muslim lands. If the people of Golan were Shiites, believe me, it would be liberated by now.

It was the Shiite Muslims of South Lebanon and Iran who proved to the world that Israel is a power which actually can be defeated. Israel is dying nowadays to reclaim its reputation as a power that cannot be defeated, but in vain. Sorry, Israel, you lost this reputation… and you lost it forever! So hands off our Holy Aqsa!

"This man stole because he was hungry, and when hunger is the reason for people to steal, the Sultan’s neck must be cut and not the thief’s hand.”"

This is how many here see the problem. While we can empathize with the Palestinians, so much of the Arab world is far removed from that conflict yet little is done to improve the life of the people.

I think that the Temple Mount should be shared, as should Jerusalem.

All sides accept Irael's existence, and not necessarily as of 1967, but provisionally.

And, perhaps I have read the wrong books, but does the Koran demand that Muslims fight to restore lands back to Islam that have gone from Islam?

In other words, can there really be peace with any boundaries?

In other words, can there really be peace with any boundaries?

An important question. And also what boundaries, decided by whom and with sovereign transparency of control and travel?

"It was the Shiite Muslims of South Lebanon and Iran who proved to the world that Israel is a power which actually can be defeated"

Not likely in my lifetime, or yours.

Depends what you mean by defeated?

Defeated through demographics, self-defeated due to Fortress Israel policies, defeated through isolation from the foreign powers that fund them, defeated as more youngsters are refusing their national service etc.

Military defeat? I don't see that. Brought into compliance with international law due to some of the above factors - quite probably.

All of what rng said, and I would add defeat through hubris.

With people like you, carrying this load on their shoulders and investing their abilities to serve what they believe in, Palestine will be back. With this sense of responsibility, we will be able to convey justice and thus defeat Israel. I always prefer to turn things to where I feel that I can cause impact. This will never change unless we change from the inside. Everyone should work from its side and we all together can cause the change. It is not acceptable for any Muslim or for any one that seeks justice to not be aware of what is going on in Al-Aqsa these days. The least thing we can do is to be aware and to feel the sadness of our current situation. keep going Anan with those nice writings...

All I see is hatred as far as I am concerned Israel and its Arab neighbors are as bad as each other. It's all about religion, hatred and people that behave worst than animals. When will they all learn to be civilized decent human beings?

War mongering seemingly ceases to be a sin, the killing of innocent souls though hatred seems to be the first item on each sides menu. Sorry this story is related to hatred so I for one can not recommend it as a peace activist.

Interesting post.

I agree with you Babel-Fish 100%. But...I cannot know the pain both sides suffer nor do I even try to pretend I do...we have enough of our own pain here in the United States. Talk about racism...this is a shame for all humanity.

The vital question where are the Arabs?has a ready-made answer.Arabs are in the pockets of US.

Arabs never wanted a resolution to Palestine-Israel conflict, the rhetoric against Israel is a daily routine so that Arab anger against their own rulers, monarchs,Sheikhs and a gang of Royal/ruling class families, could be directed against Israel.A liberated Palestine could  isnpire other countries in the Arab world to rise against their own exploiters, those who are ruling them. There is a tacit understanding  between Zionists and Arab rulers.

And the fourth party has given up, no longer calling them self Arab. Taking refuge and moving on, so their children may grow up in peace and call them self French or German... in stead.

GREAT POINT!!!

How did I ever forget about the 4th party????

Well but since you said they no longer call themselves Arabs, they don't count ;-)

:) Is blood not thicker then water? If we count objectively we have to count the defectors as well.

In the end, are we not all just Human nothing more, nothing less?

 Insha'Allah.

"In the end, are we not all just Human nothing more, nothing less?"

verily we are... nothing more, nothing less... we are all human beings fighting each other for centuries, most of the times (we fought and are fighting) for reasons unjustified, now that's inhumane!

and, as a student of history, i would again reiterate what Aldous Huxley once said, "That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons of history."... and it's still applicable... see, the point is very simple... and allow me to use the original verses of a poem aimed at Israeli soldiers to elaborate my point in a poetic manner...

"...Hitler gassed 6 million of you, but he could not kill your spirit
Those who died only made stronger, those who remained alive
Why then did you imagine that if you became Hitlers
The results of your gassing would be any different?

Listen and listen well
O! One who could have been our brother
Just as others silently watched you going into the gas chambers
Others silently watch us burying our children, the children that you continue to kill
But we remind ourselves
That the blow that does not break the back, only strengthens you..."

now these verses express clearly what is in my heart... and what i believe as an undeniable fact!

Excellent story with many good points. One wonders why the Saudis who have more money than god do not help their fellow Muslim brethern, yet rely on the much hated West to do all the financing, security and aid? The Saudis could eradicate pretty much most of the suffering in the middle east in months, but clearly are not.  I guess Money is greener and thicker and more preferred over blood.

1
Barry Artiste

If the Saudis would hire fellow muslims from the middle east as a priority over foreign workers from outside the middle east, perhaps that would allieviate the work shortages and unemployment from the regions in the middle east affected.  Those who wish the jobs to come to them are the destructors of their own predicament. Move to where the jobs are,

"Israel is dying nowadays to reclaim its reputation as a power that cannot be defeated, but in vain. Sorry, Israel, you lost this reputation… and you lost it forever! So hands off our Holy Aqsa!"

I think not. Sorry but accuracy in your reporting  just doesn't hold up. I am so amazed, well maybe not, at the emotional outbursts when Israel is mentioned. Hatred, exaggeration, ignorance, racist comments, etc. plummet any possible truth and reality. Screw the bastards is the theme here.  Syria should only allow the freedom that EVERY Israeli citizen shares: Jews, Muslims, Christians, Bahais, and many other smaller sects most of you never heard of.

But then again I live here and see what really goes on this small strip of land. The spin and exaggeration of truth belies the real intent and motivations of some.

I am not here to defend policy nor do I care much about what is  commented out of frustration and prejudice. But I do ask my fellow journalists to please keep your personal dislikes out of the fray if possible and ask questions about Israel and its policies instead of seeing us through a "glass darkly". You just might be surprised at the truth.

Just one more thing. If you believe all these sensational accusations made in this article about the "Zionist enemy" then I have a bridge I would love to sell you. Real cheap.

I will not waste my time replying to such an ignorant comment.

Please go do more research and reading.

Anan,

Do not break the NP rules and personally attack me. All I stated from my vantage point living in Israel and seeing for myself  what is taking place here is that your statement does not represent the truth. Calling me names from Damascus does not support your claims.

1
AnanTello

Do you have reading problems? Where exactly did I personally attack you? Where exactly did I call you names? Please DO enjoy your stay in the occupied territories of Palestine... enclosed by iron walls.

0
Amy Judd

Sorry but calling something someone wrote 'ignorant' is a personal attack. Please refrain from this as we don't allow it on NP.

Anan,

When you are mature enough to discuss the serious issues in our neighborhood then maybe your hatred will move aside and peace will come to the region. Until then it appears that you are NOT interested in discussing anything except insults. Sad commentary on your perspective.

1
AnanTello

Peace will not come to the region before you pack your stuff and leave our lands.

0
Amy Judd

Please do not call someone immature, it is also a personal attack and is not allowed on NP.

Ah. At least you are finally sharing your real feelings. Sorry dear but we are here to stay, G-d willing, one day your hatred will melt into the sea.

Wow, Anan...I've been reading through all your articles and though I disagree with you on minor points here and there, I've found your articles to be thought provoking, at their very least.  Unfortunately, although not really life-altering for you I'm sure, I hold the work of journalists up to the journalists theirselves, and if you honestly think the answer to this conflict can be found in "pack your stuff and leave our lands"....I'm shocked, to say the least.  Here I thought was a young woman with strong ideals, and a passion for politics, and yet....must I conclude you are, in fact, just a well-educated, well-spoken racist?  Sadly, I hold no truck with racists.  How do you think it would go over if the Native American Indian population told all people of European and African decent "pack your stuff and leave our land"....?  It's a slightly ridiculous demand, no?

1
AnanTello

Racist?

Hating baby killers is called racism? You must really read some articles on racism.

It's not a ridiculous demand and all the good Jews know that they were not supposed to occupy Palestine. Ask Naturi-Carta... are they racists, too?

If I came to your house, destroyed it, killed your babies, caused so much damage to you and slept on your bed... what would you say to me? Oh, please do stay? Or pack your stuff and leave? Use your common sense.

Hating baby-killers is not racist....I don't think anyone would say that baby-killing is okay.  Anyone of reputable mental status, anyway.  Although, I am curious if you're referring to the slaughter of the first-born of Egypt, or....?  Because, and I might be wrong, I'm pretty sure that happend..oh...what...2,000 years ago?  As recently as 100 years ago people of MY heritage (irish) were declined work in this country (the US),  Does that mean I should hate the British?  As recently as 150 years ago people of my heritage (Cherokee Indian) were slaughtered whole-sale.  Does that mean I should hate the British and Spanish?  Hating a person who kills babies is not racism.  Hating a person who kills babies entire race...is...by definition, racism, regardless of how large the community of baby killers in that race happens to be.   Unless, of course, 100% of that race has, at some point in their life, killed a baby.  Let's take a hypothetical.  Let's say we have a race of people known as.....Flabberians (yes, it's a hypothetical, I get to make up words).  And let's say that every Flabberian, as a rite of passage, kills a newborn baby on their 20th b-day.  Every Flabberian must do this.  Every Flabberian since their race was distinguished from everyone else's, has always done this.  There is no Flabberian, ever, in the history of their long heritage that has argued this, or attempted to get away from doing this.  They are truly baby-killers, to a person.  I would say, and I might be wrong, that I despise their culture.  That I hate their belief system, and that I, being a man of good moral standing, think their ritualistic baby slaughter is wrong.  Notice I never said I hated the people themselves.  Notice I never said Flabberians need to be eradicated because of their beliefs.  "Hate the sin, not the sinner" (and no, I'm not using a religious definition of sin here, more of a moral/ethical definition).  Now, let's come back to reality, and your comment that Israelites (or did you mean the Jewish people in general?) are "baby killers".  Really?  Every single Israelite (Or Jew?) has killed a baby at some point in their lifetime?  No?  Then yes, my dear, sadly, you are a racist.

1
AnanTello

The French occupied my country previously. I do NOT hate them. You know why? Because, in my religion, one does not inherit one's sins. We do not inherit Adam & Eve's sin.

But those Zionist baby-killers are demolishing Palestinian homes, killing innocent people, massacring thousands of Palestinians, throwing others in jail and taking the land with force EACH AND EVERY DAY. This did not happen in the past and stop as in the case with Syria and France. No one in Syria hates the French... why? 'Cause what happened in the past remained there and it's not happening now.

EVERY SINGLE ISRAELI is a baby-killer. Didn't you see how their so-called kids signed the bombs that were used to kill Lebanese kids, "Dear Lebanese/Palestinian/Arab/Muslim/Christians - Kids. Die with love.

Yours,

Israeli Kids."

I do hate the sinner AND the sin.

The Arab Jews have each and every right to stay in Palestine because it's their land as well as Christians' and Muslims'. We always lived with them in harmony and peace.

Take off your coat of prejudice and, for once, put yourself in a Gaza kid's shoes.

The discussion is closed. I don't have so much free time to reply to every prejudiced or ignorant comment (not person).  This is an article: take it or leave it. Go write an article of your own to express your "thoughts".

Adieu
