2008-09-06 20:02:02 - LOME, Togo (AP) - Togo's prime minister has resigned after less than one year in office.
A statement from the president's office read on national TV gives no reason for Prime Minister Komla Mally's unexpected departure late Friday. The statement says President Faure Gnassingbe had accepted Mally's resignation. Independent newspapers in Togo have accused the premier of lacking initiative and of being ineffective. Mally is member of the ruling RPT party who was appointed prime minister on Dec. 3.
