Tonia Carmichael was the first victim to be identified in Cleveland serial killer Anthony Sowell's home. Tonia Carmichael, 53, from Warrensville Height was reported missing in November 2008. Cuyahoga Coroner identified her using DNA matching.

Carmichael's daughter said she was addicted to drugs, and often visited Sowell's neighborhood.

Authorities believe Sowell committed 11 murders judging from the remains found in his home. Police are planning to tear down the walls.

Sowell has been charged with 5 counts of murder and is held without bond.

Cuyahoga Coroner Dr. Frank Miller stated that DNA was used in the identification of Carmichael. Miller added there has been a match of a dental record of another victim but are waiting for DNA to give the name to the public.
