If the security situation in Pakistan is worsening with every passing day, the political situation has also turned explosive with the top ally of beleaguered President Asif Zardari on Monday advising him to quit as the head of the state.

The advice to Zardari came from self-exiled Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain.
Not only this, the ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP) led by Zardari as co-chairman with his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is still a university student, has also lost support of not only of the MQM, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, PML-Quaid that ruled the country under the wings of former military ruler Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf and PML-Functional led by a spiritual figure (Pir Pagara) of Zardari's home province of Sindh but two other allies of the PPP -- Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) -- also seem double minded on the issue of a controversial law that was promulgated by Musharraf to grant amnesty to several politicians including Zardari in corruption cases.
In the prevailing situation, the Zardari-led government is in dire straits because it seems extremely difficult for it to get the so-called National Reconciliation Ordinance passed from the parliament.

KARACHI: The chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has decided to oppose NRO in the Parliament and advice President Asif Ali Zardari to quit as president.
The senior analyst of Geo News Dr.Shahid Masood said the top leadership of MQM had conveyed the message to President Zardari through Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Baber Awan to give sacrifice along with his companions and face courts.
Talking to Dr. Shahd Masood, MQM leader Altaf Hussain told the government that NRO is a black law and it should not be presented in the assembly but government had ignored the suggestion and presented it in the parliament. The MQM coordination committee will announce MQM's decision later.

According to media reports, the MQM has already conveyed its decision of opposing the NRO in the National Assembly to a close aide of Zardari, Interior Minister of Pakistan Rehman Malik.
The PPP has only 125 votes in a house of 342 with the ANP having 13 members and MQM having 26 members in the National Assembly -- the lower house of bicameral parliament.
ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s Parliamentary leader Dr. Farooq Sattar in a meeting with Interior Minister Rehman Malik has conveyed his party’s decision to oppose National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) while disappointed parliamentarians of FATA have also decided to go against NRO.
Parliamentary leader Munir Orakzai, talking to media persons here at the Parliament House on Monday, said that FAT parliamentarians have made up decided to oppose NRO. He said FATA MNA’s would not be attending tonight’s meeting to be held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The MQM members also held a meeting in the chairmanship of their Parliamentary leader Dr. Farooq Sattar. Describing the NRO as a discriminatory law, the meeting decided not to support it.
Dr. Sattar has conveyed his party’s decision to the Interior Minister Rehman Malik in a meeting.

Some may wish to see Musharraf back in the driver seat soon. It does certainly not look good and what is happening in Afghanistan does not help a bit either.

Almost none of Pakistanis wants Musharraf back in the presidential palace but a huge majority wants to seem him in jail for abrogating the constitution of the country and toppling an elected government. As far as Afghanistan is concerned, it is hub of conspiracies against Pakistan and all the terrorism incident incidents are being planned and directed from this war-ravaged country. Karzai is not only a puppet of the US but along with many of his officials he is also a stooge of India.

Interesting development regarding President Zardari's relationship with the population.

He had never any relationship with Pakistanis but his friends in corrupt practices. The votes secured by his party were that of the party nominees in their personal capacities or those who believed in Bhuttoism -- a so-called philosophy of his late father-in-law who himself never followed it when in power. Some illiterates also cast votes in favour of PPP only because of the murder of its leader and that too a woman, who used to hoodwink masses like her father.
