Top judge faces sack for speaking out about immigrants.
Immigrants abusing benefits system
A senior judge faces the sack after saying that 'hundreds of thousands of immigrants' come to Britain to receive generous welfare payments.
Judge Ian Trigger was told yesterday that a disciplinary inquiry is to look at whether his criticisms of the links between crime, large-scale immigration and the welfare system were 'too political'.
The 65-year-old Crown Court judge, who has also served on immigration tribunals for just over a decade, made his remarks as he jailed an illegal immigrant and drug runner last month.
He stated facts and the government does not like the facts
Judge Trigger said the case illustrated how a 'lax' immigration policy had led to 'hundreds and hundreds of thousands' of immigrants arriving in Britain to claim generous welfare benefits.
And he warned that wasted welfare payments had helped double the national debt, with the burden falling on decent hard-working citizens.
That is the truth and freedom of speech should allow him to express what he feels is true.

But not all immigrants abuse the welfare system they work hard to send money back to their families. But the problem is welfare is the big attraction to UK.

It is dangerous and unfair to generalize and that is why the Judge is getting sacked.
He discriminated against and insulted about about 10% of the UK population.
Those pay Taxes as well and pay for the abuses by committed by Natives as well as by Immigrants or others.

I agree he is generalizing but what about free speech.

Free Speech applies to a private Citizen and not to a Judge in public office that has to remain non-partial and uphold the Law.

Well, I can not see anyplace in his quotes where he lied or obviously broke one of the six principles of the Judicial Conduct Guide.
judicial independence: is damaged by what appears to be a politically motivated attack on a judge.
impartiality; humm... well, he didn't sentence him to excessive time in jail (2 years)
integrity; He has integrity, that would be why he said what he did, to not disclose the problems he see's would be a loss of integrity.
propriety; I don;t know enough about British law to say anything here...
ensuring equality of treatment to all before the courts; Did he treat this man any different than another judge would have? (I don;t know, but I don;t think so)
competence and diligence; no need, his quotes speak to this.
Paschen, true, as a judge his "right" to free speech is limited while he is on his bench, but how much? If the response here is politically motivated wouldn't that be a greater breech of public trust?
I don't know that this is politicaly motivated, but I have seen similer situations here in the US that were VERY political or motivated by simple greed..
