Human remains found near Mount Forest Ontario have been positively identified as Victoria "Tori" Stafford.

A brief news conference took place in the Stafford's hometown of Woodstock, which is about 130km south of where the remains were found. Terri-Lynne McClintic, who is facing murder charges, took police on a random search of where she thought the remains were found in late May, but nothing was ever found.

McClintic and her boyfriend Michael Thomas C.S. Rafferty have been charged in the abduction and murder of 8-year-old Tori Stafford, who went missing on April 8.

OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino, who appeared with acting Oxford Police Chief Rod Freeman and OPP Detective-Sergeant Bill Renton, formally offered his officers' “deep regrets to Tori's family on the tragic loss of an innocent little child.”

The remains were discovered Sunday afternoon by an investigator with the joint task force, which has been searching for the eight-year-old for months now.

I've been keeping up with this story since I first heard about her disappearance. Just as marianmo mentioned, I don't understand how people can be this sick and twisted. The poor little girl, God only knows what she went through. No one, including her family, should have to be suffering like this. I believe another story mentioned that she would have turned nine recently. Parents are not supposed to bury their children.

There was also another story recently where they believe a child (I think) was buried alive. What would make someone do this. The only bright side to this incredibly awful story is that now her remains have been found and her family and friends can now stop looking and stop worrying that they will find her body wherever they go.

You sick, crazy son of a bitch. I hope you get whats coming to you in jail and that NO Tax payers money will keep you alive to see the sun again because you will not live long enough. Peace of total CRAP, You deserve to die a horrible death.
May Tori rest in peace now that we have found her. Good luck to her familly, this will change their lives forever. Dont forget her Big Brother, he will need help also.

Myself and my children have been keeping up with all the news on Tori from day-1.  I was heartbroken when I had to explain to my daughter who is the same age as Tori that she is with Jesus now.  My daughter remained so enthusiastic that she would be found alive.  My heart aches, how could someone ever hurt a little angel. I can't even imagine the "Trauma" that the family has been enduring.  Why a child, why...why...why?  They are so fragile and so innocent.
