Trapped Miners in Chile Make Video Showing Their Surroundings

The 33 Miners Trapped in a Chilean Mine Have Made a 45 Minute Video For the World to See What They Are Going Through

The camera was passed down a shaft in the San Jose mine so that the 33 men trapped down there could send messages to their families and show the world what they are going through trapped so far underground.

The miners have been trapped since August 5 and were recently told that their rescue could take up to four months.

The video shows the area the miners have to live in and the table where they play games, their sleeping area and the few supplies they have underground.

The men have no shirts on because it is so hot underground; all of them appear to have lost weight and of course, have facial hair.

They are also seen singing the Chilean National Anthem.

They may have another worry on their hands, as CBC reports that company that hired them have said they cannot afford to pay their wages while they are stuck down there underground. They are also doing nothing towards the rescue efforts, which will be paid for by Chile's state-owned mining company and is expected to cost $1.7 million. The San Esteban company that hired the men has no money or equipment to help out.
