Tribute to the Fallen at F. Hood
The Fight Begins With Enemies From Within
Thirteen brave soldiers lost their lives to a terrorist within their ranks.
The terrorist was American-born who was free to practice his faith in this nation.
Some leaders in his faith concocted that Americans are at war with his religion.
An academically educated man had fallen prey to ancient mythological beliefs that promotes intolerance and undermines human freedom and dignity.
He pulled the trigger against a society that fought for his freedom to practice his faith.
Doing this, he proved to the world that some religions can harbor hate, and promote violence against humanity.
Therefore, in remembrance of those who fought for freedom, we must be vigilant against anyone and any fashioned beliefs that run counter to peaceful existence, safety, and respect for individual liberties.
Anything less is the enemy that can be within or outside our nation-state borders.
Human freedom and the right to liberty and peaceful existence belong to all humankind, and nothing can undermine these basic values.
