Troy Ryan Bellar, 34, went on a murder rampage killing his wife, Wendy Bellar, 31, and two of their three sons before committing suicide, Sunday.  Troy Bellar allegedly shot his family after an aggressive fight from which Wendy Bellar was attempting to flee.

Wendy Bellar had her 5-month old son and 8-year old son with her as she tried to leave the family home; the three of them were killed on the front porch.  Troy Bellar then chased 13-year old Nathan Bellar through the garage firing a gun at him in repeated attempts to kill him.

Nathan Bellar dodged several bullets and was able to escape his fathers murder attempt without injury.  He ran to the safety of a neighbor's house.  Troy Bellar gave up pursuit of his eldest son and killed himself on the front lawn of Lakeland, Florida home.

Wendy Bellar tried to leave the home with two of the children after a fight with her husband, Polk County Sheriff's Department spokesman Scott Wilder said .

But Troy Bellar opened fire with a 7.62 mm rifle and killed his wife, 5-month-old Zack James Bellar and 8-year-old Ryan Patrick Bellar in the front porch area.

"It's a very, very angry and selfish and cowardly person who murdered his family," Wilder said. "What motive or what explanation can you give?"

Investigators were still trying to determine the sequence of the shooting.

No neighbors were injured by gunfire, according to a canvass by deputies.

I wouldn't have told him I was leaving him, that could have been the motive, where they were just arguing, he did not want to lose his family. So instead of losing them, he decided they were better off dead with him. Its simple matter from a psychotic point of view. In his head it makes since. She can be with him, or she can have no one. Advice to all women still, do not tell your husband you are going to leave him and start taking the kids. Wait until everyone is cooled down or hes not looking, and leave. Telling him will on result into a worse position as you seen above.
