Flares used in fuel protest, oil prices
Fuel protests are increasing across Europe from drivers who depend on their vehicles to earn a living, such as truck drivers and taxis drivers. Such vehicle protests have now been seen in every major European country. Fuel prices have doubled since French president Nicolas Sarkozy took office in May 2007, and they have risen by 240 percent since 2004.
Dozens of lorries and taxistravelling at a snail's pace blocked a major motorway leadinginto Paris on Tuesday in a protest against high fuel prices. The slow-moving convoy set off at around 7.00 a.m. (0500GMT), just as the rush hour traffic was picking up, and swiftlysnarled a major route leading to the La Defense businessdistrict, highway authorities said. In a separate protest against the rising cost of diesel, hundreds of farmers used their tractors to block access to thelargest fuel depot serving France's second city Lyon. French fishermen, truckers and farmers have staged countlessprotests over the past month to force the government to helptheir businesses overcome high prices at the petrol pump. Protests have also spread to other European countriesincluding Spain, Italy, Belgium and Portugal.

How is possible that the same product cost $1.33 Saturday morning, $1.36 Saturday night, and $1.32 Sunday night. This is ridiculous.

The prices of the gas in Europe are crazy but here in Canada we are not doing it much better, and unfortunately the American engine are not as fuel efficient as other brands.

Maybe is also time for us to join to these protest.
