For the Republican minority Senators they have no other means to even attempt to have a voice in the Democrat dominated Senate. The Democrat dominated Senate of Harry Reid has refused every piece of legislation to come up from the House and instead have tried to jam through their unconstitutional edicts. Just like they did in the House when they had a majority there as well in the Senate and rammed through Obamacare. What's Obamacare? Nancy Pelosi," We'll explain it to you after you vote to pass it". The Democrat dominated Senate has refused to bring out a budget for three years and are about to, according to Harry Reid, make it four in a row before they enter their lame duck sessions between now and Jan 2013 post election. Filibuster is only a way to stop what policy you have been shut out from participating in developing. Democratic Senate majority under Obama has shut out Republican participation. What the minority in the Senate are given with the filibuster as political instrument is a device to combat fascist dictatorial government like we saw with Obamacare. One half of the representative government, Republicans, had no voice in what was in Obama care. Not to mention Democrats. When Democrats were asked if they could explain Obamacare to their constituents they replied, No. No one has explained it to us. We agreed to a health care bill that is over 2,000 pages and we don't know what it is or how it would work.
