Unsourced 'Implanted Bomb' Threat

The TSA has warned of a terrorist threat involving bombs implanted beneath people's skin. Mind you, there's no specific incident that has been mentioned, nor any particular group moving to carry this out. There is, in fact, no intelligence to suggest that such a plot is even being planned in real life.

In fact, there's only the TSA warning passengers of subcutaneous bombs in what frankly sounds like a ploy to get travelers to stop complaining about invasive searches at airports, and to shore up flagging public support for a system of full-body scanners that are more about lucrative contracts than security.

The TSA tells travelers in the USA to be prepared for "unpredictable" screening procedures, which is another way of saying "we aren't consistently training our staff".

Do not consent to the full-body porno-scanners, as they have not been proven safe. Indeed, questions are being asked over the health effects suffered by TSA workers stuck manning the scanners. Yes, Janet Napoletano said the scanners were safe, but she was not telling the truth.

If the TSA didn't spend so much time crying wolf while grabbing our junk, we'd probably take them a bit more seriously.

The government should remove the scanners from all airports and take the financial loss. It's no big deal financially for the government. They expose you to dangerous radiation and show nude images of you which is an invasion of privacy. The majority of people have rejected the scanners for what they do. Regular security checks get the job done. You don't need the scanners. Maybe they can take the scanners and recycle them responsibly, so they're not a threat to the environment.
