UK: Austerity Protest in Manchester - '35,000 take to the streets'

Hundreds of police officers kept a close eye on thirty-five thousand people who took part in Sundays TUC's 'March for the Alternative' demonstration at Manchester city centre  to deliver the message to the Conservative Party conference "Cuts are not the cure"

.....Addressing the "Leadership for a better future" William Hague said: "The money you were promised by the last Labour government never existed, it was never there, and we have been left with the task of telling you the truth''....

Words which are unlikely to satisfy the thousands worried that the Tory Government are deceiving them and haven't a clue how to run the United Kingdom or the economy...

Raising taxes, brings in less money, because the public spends less and companies profits fall.

Giving money away in foreign aid to countries who have plenty, bailing out European countries with expensive tastes and promising growth plans to improve productivity which appears to be nonexistent, all paid for by cuts to government jobs and pensions.
