Tucson Shooting Video: Surveillance Video Shows Jared Lee Loughner Attempted Assassination Of Gabrielle Giffords | Jared Loughner Assassination Charges
Jared Lee Loughner has been indicted on 3 counts of attempted assassination, one against Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and two of her aides CNN is reporting.
Under Grand Jury rules the prosecution has to deliver some sort of indictment within 30 days and so in effect the assassination charges are type of placeholder until the Grand Jury completes its investigation. The US Attorney's Office in Arizona that more charges will occur as the investigation into the Tucson Shooting continues.
Meanwhile news sources are quoting sources regarding the content of surveillance tapes that capture the Tucson Shooting on Video. The Tucson Shooting Video reportedly shows Jared Lee Loughner attempting to assassination Rep. Giffords.
Pima County Sheriff's Department officials say that the footage shows the gunman shooting Rep. Gabrielle Giffords above her left eye from no more than 3 feet away, and then firing off 31 more shots in the next 15 seconds. Federal Judge John Roll is also seen trying to save Giffords' employee Ronald Barber before being fatally shot in the back.
