This basketball incident is a few weeks old. It got play in Israel. Also, the Turkish PM was very upset that Israel did not warn him before hand about the Gaza war. He was involved in Syria-Israeli talks and he felt personally caught by surprised and got real testy about it. As a result, he made some statements that have strained relations. But we will see what happens. Turkey and Israel share billions in economic ties.

Tha basketball match was a Euro-league match and it appeared to be a set up. the accounts from the incident felt that most of the raucous were not from regular fans of the basketball team. Usually the international competition stays out of politics.
