The fans of dead celebrities will get an unprecedented chance to engage in the world's first Twitter Seance, or 'Tweance', this Friday, October 30 -- the night before Halloween. Anyone with an Internet connection and a Twitter account will be able to submit questions to ask their late idols during a 'Tweance' that will take place on Twitter at 10:30 AM UK time from within London, UK.

The Tweance 'moderator' phychic Jayne Wallace is putting a new spin on a traditional seance by asking her Twitter followers to talk to the spirits via Twitter. Wallace will contact the dead celebrities and Tweet out any responses that she gets in real time. Currently, over 1,600 people are set to engage in Friday's Tweance.

So, what celebrities can the Tweance enthusiasts call on? How about pop-star Michael Jackson, actor River Phoenix, musician Kurt Cobain and even world's most famous bard William Shakespeare? Among celebrities who were nominated by Twitterers, but did not get selected were Abraham Lincoln, Lee Harvey Oswald, William Burroughs, Frank Sinatra, George Washington, Jim Morrison, the Duke of Windsor, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, John Lennon and others.

The hashtag for Twitter discussions on Tweance is ... well,  #tweance. Already, there are some very interesting comments made about the initiative. Some people seem to be having fun with it, others dismiss it as a horrendous example of online commercialization.

In any case, questions are still being accepted! Send yours @tweance, and see if anyone is there.
