At least six foreigners have been killed and the death figure has gone up to 101 in the Mumbai attack. In one of the most violent terror attacks on Indian soil, Mumbai came under an unprecedented night attack as terrorists used heavy machine guns, including AK-47s, and grenades to strike at the city's most high-profile targets. Among the dead foreigner not much is known about the nationality.
The 88-year-old scientist was in Mumbai to receive the Indian Nuclear Society's (INS) Eminent Scientist Award and was staying at the five-star hotel in south Mumbai, Department of Atomic Energy sources said.
Terrorists are holed up inside the hotel where operation to flush them out is currently on.
Both Vendryes and his wife spoke to the DAE authorities this morning and said that they were fine, the sources said.
The award was presented to Vendryes at the annual conference of the INS held at the office of Nuclear Power Corporation of India at Anushakti Nagar in Mumbai.

re: "AK-47 gun sales up 50%"
Gun nuts are afraid Democrats will re-impose the assault weapons ban of the 90's.

This sort of attack can lead to the wrong conclusions and retaliations that may be disproportionate.

You don't defeat an enemy by "playing nice and fair", you defeat an enemy by stomping them into the ground and when you feel like you've stomped them enough, you stomp a little more.

Your method reminds me of someone, oh...does Saddam Hussein's way of handling the Kurds rings a bell???
Unless you make them totally extinct, you just create a whole lot more enemies and make friends wary of your methods of solving problems. You kill one guy, the whole family will be against you. you kill the whole family, the whole clan will be against you...and so on. However, you do need multi-prong approach to solve this kind of problem, of which, I regretfully admit, sometimes requires armed approach.

To cut to the chase - these attacks will not stop until we annihilate Islam from the universe. Just a straight fact.
The problem is now growing to an unmanageable proportion. Here is a sample of what a popular member of the Islamic intelligentsia in Pakistan thinks:"... Still, many South Asian Muslims insist Islam is the one and only force that can bring the subcontinent together and return it to preeminence as a single whole. "We [Muslims] were the legal rulers of India, and in 1857 the British took that away from us," says Tarik Jan, a gentle-mannered scholar at Islamabad's Institute of Policy Studies. "In 1947 they should have given that back to the Muslims." Jan is no militant, but he pines for the golden era of the Mughal period in the 1700s, and has a fervent desire to see India, Pakistan and Bangladesh reunited under Islamic rule. ..." *(http://tinyurl.com/5k3yak)
WTF??? I say ... dream on m@#$%%f^%$ker. And to my brothers- high time we staged a revolution to take our country back - back from mofos such as these and from our self-serving "politicians".
Yes,this is war. And Tarik, we're coming for you too.

It all comes back to us being a God's human being. It's our rights to believe in every religion we believe. If you are forcing other people to follow your religion or calling other religion is wrong. Better do something good, PRAY. Let us walk in our own way, it is hard enough to follow God's rules for us to have the Mercy to be able to live in heaven. Life is short. Heaven is Forever. May God Bless us all.

India needs very strong leadership to tackle such type of situation. unless pakistan is taught a good lesson, this will continue to exist. Let the Indian army cross the border and dismantle all the infrastructures facilities available for the Islamic Terrorists by the ISI.

This is very sad if innocent people are killed by these terrorists. Who is responsible for that situation? Who will get benifits from killing innocent people and terifying people in the region? Who is trying to destablise Pakistan and India? Many question arise. But inspite of that our leadership is responsible for not making our counrty secure. Our leaders only look for position and do no tthink about the innocent people. If security people new already that some thing is going to happen in Mumbai why did not they take action before. I think for leaders, to kill people is not any issue just they want to protect their seats. This is very coplex issue. we can only pray may God give us wisdom to differntiate between right and wrong. May God protect our countries from anybody who look at us with bad eye. Amen

It is clear that Indian leaders (perhaps it is true for Pakistan too) need to show better resolve and honesty in tackling the terror problem. Lives are being lost repeatedly as terrorists become bolder and bolder with each new attack. War may not solve the problem.
So why is this happening ? There are several theories out there. Theory A and Theory B on the website, see mumbaibai.wordpress.com
Terrorism needs strong joint response and everybody has to be alert. The police force needs to find out why we have policemen who refused to fire (as reported by the photographer D'Souza): are the police carrying dummy rifles (no bullets?) So many questions and so few answers.
Please visit the website, there is disbelief that this can be allowed to happen. Do not let it happen again !!!!
