Two foreign journalist sustained injuries in a firing incident near Hyattabad area here on Friday.
Police sources said the journalists were on their way to Khyber Agency to interview a leader of an outlawed outfit when firing has begun from tribal area injuring both of them.
A Japanese journalist received injuries on leg has been sent to Islamabad.
A Canadian journalist was abducted this week in Pakistan's northern tribal region while gathering materials for a documentary, officials said.
Beverly Giesbrecht, 52, also known as Khadija Abdul Qahaar, was seized at gunpoint on Tuesday while traveling in the Bannu district of Pakistan's Northwest Frontier Province, which borders Afghanistan.
"The government of Canada is aware of the kidnapping of a Canadian citizen in Pakistan,” Lisa Monette, a spokeswoman for Canada's Foreign Affairs department told foreign news agency.
"Canadian officials are engaged with Pakistani authorities in seeking her safe and early release," she said.
Unidentified persons kidnapped a female Canadian journalist in volatile tribal region of Pakistan on Tuesday along with her guide and translator while travelling from Bannu to Miranshah.
It was learnt that the Canadian journalist, Khadija Abdul Qahar, was on her way to Miranshah in the troubled North Waziristan Agency via Sra Darga by a taxicab along with her translator and guide when some unidentified armed men kidnapped all of them.
However, the taxicab driver managed to escape from the scene. It was learnt that the district police were combing the area to recover the kidnapped Canadian journalist and her colleagues.
Khadija Abdul Qahar, an old woman who had embraced Islam, is reportedly based in Islamabad.

Thanks for recommendation and comment. You are right, this trend is part of an international conspiracy aimed at plunging Pakistan into complete chaos for being the lone nuclear state among the Islamic countries. Apparently, militants and criminals are involved in these acts but in fact there is some sort of plot to destabilise and these militants and criminals are being used by some foreign countries to achieve their nefarious designs.
