Two trains collide in Cuba; up to 100 injured, 3 dead

Two passenger trains have collided in central Cuba, and at least three people have been confirmed dead, and could be as many as 100 injured.

Authorities were investigating why the eastbound and westbound trains hit as they were passing each other on parallel tracks at about 8:30 a.m., outside the city of Sibanicu in Camaguey province, according to the Online edition of Adelante, the province's state-controlled newspaper.

The trains were knocked off their tracks and the injured have been take to hospitals in Camaguey.
One train was traveling to Santiago and the other was going to Havana.
