An arrest was made after two young people were shot at Deer Creek Middle School in Littleton, Colorado. The two victims of the shooting that took place aound 3 p.m. sustained non-life threatening injuries. The incident calls to mind the Columbine Massacre, which took place close to Deer Creek Middle.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff spokesman, Mark Techmeyer, the suspect is an adult male and an arrest has been made.

Techmeyer commented on the incident saying, "we got on the scene and Jefferson County deputies were able to take into custody one adult male," Techmeyer said. "We have two victims, both juveniles. One was in the front of the school, outside of the school, and the other one was inside the school."

Deer Creek Middle was placed under lockdown at 4 p.m. with students being directed to Stony Creek Elementary School where they could be picked up by their parents.

Very sad.  School shootings seem to happen almost weekly.

It boggles the mind how they could wait to lock down the school til 4:00, when  the shooting happened at 3:00!
