Two's the limit for Bloomberg
Though there had been specualtion that New York mayor Mike Bloomberg might try to find a way to run for a third term, the mayor's office has killed the speculation.
Some New Yorkers wouldn't mind seeing Mayor Bloomberg stick around for another four years in City Hall - but the mayor isn't one of them.
"The mayor believes in term limits, and is going to leave office at the end of this term," spokesman Stu Loeser said emphatically Sunday.
Some aides have discussed changing the City Charter to allow him to run for a third term, an idea that some New Yorkers welcome.
"Harlem is a lot better compared to when I got here," said Aime Paton Diendere, 32, who said she'd vote for Bloomberg if he ran again. "He's doing good things on the school side. I have nieces who are doing good in school now, and the city is clean."
Sam Daniels, 48, of Manhattan, said that by now Bloomberg "should know the ins and outs of the city. I think it's a great idea."
Others, though, said Bloomberg has had plenty of time in office, and shouldn't think about extending it.
"I don't think they should change the rules," said Darrel Sharpeson, 25, of Queens. "That wouldn't be fair to anyone else who is going to run, or anyone else who has run prior to him."
