U.K. woman’s 35-year search for dad ends in B.C.

From the time she was 17, Rosemarie Mychajlow had searched tirelessly for her father.

Thirty-five years later, the British woman finally found what she was looking for halfway across the world — in Penticton, B.C.

As soon as she discovered her father was alive and living in Canada’s most westerly province, Mychajlow immediately hopped on a plane to see him — even though an airline terrorist plot had just been foiled three days earlier in her native country.

“When I met him the first time, time was of the essence because he was told he only had a year to live,” says Mychajlow. “As soon as I set eyes on him, I knew he was my dad.”
