Mr Obama said in a US TV interview screened on Sunday that "Iran is going to be one of our biggest challenges". He said he was concerned about Iran's support for Lebanese Shia party Hezbollah and Tehran's nuclear enrichment programme

Did Israel approach Obama for a 2009 attack on Iran ?

Why is David Springer informing us now ? Extension of Israel's Gaza attack to Iran ? On the wish list for Israel since Georgia war could not fire Iran war.

Israel approached the White House in early 2008 with three requests for an attack on Iran's main nuclear complex, said New York Times reporter David Sanger. His article appears in the newspaper on Sunday.

According to Sanger, Israel wanted specialized bunker-busting bombs, equipment to help refuel planes making flights into Iran and permission to fly over Iraq to reach the major nuclear complex at Natanz, the site of Iran's only known uranium enrichment plant.

The White House "deflected" the first two requests and denied the last, Sanger said.

Interesting, At least some thing good he did not to give in to that. I think Israel is more of a challenge then Iran nowadays.

An Attack on Iran would mean the end of Israel and the US and maybe all of us with it. Iran will have Russia and China as well as others backing it.

Paschen...At least some thing good he did not to give in to that (Bush Iran war). What me makes thinking the weak position of Obama towards No-war promise.

mezze...this power-addicted Barak will do about anything to be re-elected...True, the other side he has to give some "Cash back" to his main Election campaign contributors. This was a group he got to know in Chicago first with Ida Sylverstein. How to balance this all ?

Very cunning, since the Sauds were urging either to attack their rival. Keep them dependent on us to survive.

If <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />America leaves the middle Eastren countries to sort their mess themselves boy that will be the day.. if the American leadership openly declares that its sacred duty to protect the American public (not any middle eastern country) and brings up the courage to criticise Israeli actions where appropriate and gives the unqualified support a rest then it wont make it anti Semite.. an honest and true friend is one who has the bottle to tell the truth and stop other from continued wrong.. (PS I believe in Israels right of peaceful existance whether anyone likes it or not)

Once that day comes.. Iran will have no reason to hate America, Saudia will have no chance to use Israel or US to attack Iran and Israel and rest of the middle east will see sense and come together to resolve their issues.. if not then I predict a big Nuclear crater  in the middle east and good riddance of this annoyance forever. Who will cause this crater? I leave it open..
