U.S. Citizen Wins $7.5 Million Dollars in Canada's Lotto 6/49
Barry Artiste Op/Ed
For one American citizen and his family, Canada is the country that keeps on giving.
For the US Government, a 2 million dollar tax windfall from one of it's citizens is pretty much good fortune for its depleted tax coffers.
It was evident Sean Mayer was trying to figure out ways to beat the tax man even while the 51-year-old Seattle-area businessman was collecting a $7.5 million cheque for winning the Jan. 3 Lotto 6/49 draw.
But, because Mayer's American, he's going to have to cough up $2.1 million of that prize money to the U.S. government.

That's too much money. No one needs 7.5 million dollars.

Seriously though a big tax bite aside, I would not complain if I still made out like a bandit with close to 3 million dollars US!

I hope he enjoys his family and rests well, I'm sure he is a hard working man.
