Video of Air Force "Photo-Op" That Caused Panic in New York City and Jersey City

New Yorkers were startled today when a large jet, which turns out to be the back up for Air Force One, was escorted by two military planes and circled the Statue of Liberty. In what a NYC press release calls "part of an authorized federal activity," the specific purpose of the flights is, of course, still unknown. Described in one article as a "Photo Op," and more specifically "It's a military flight over New York to take photos."

From what I've read, the plane buzzed lower Manhattan's buildings around the World Trade Center area.

What were they thinking to have set up an aerial photo shoot on a Monday morning, while people were at work around the WTC area without notifying the public?

Thinking?  The President is not a deep thinker but a great reader.  Oh I know the President did not say go fly around New York and take photo's right?  One of his little chiefs did.

They were not 'FEELING' for God's sake

People are so busy stirring the pot of not torturing these deranged killers with techniques that fraternities actually laugh about .  Hazing there is worse.  .  I say do whatever it takes if it will save a building full of people working for their families.  Do you "feel" the people there that thought the plane was going to do another  9/11 would give a damn if someone could be waterboarded to stop another one?

From WSJ:

The White House had planned a second photo shoot of a jumbo jet used as Air Force One in Washington D.C next month. The follow-up session would have taken place May 5 or May 6, using the nation's capital as a backdrop, according to two government officials.

One official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Washington photo session is being reconsidered, given the reaction to Monday's flight in New York.
