U.S. Navy creates manga about nuclear carrier

U.S. Naval Forces Japan headquarters has produced a Japaneselanguage manga comic depicting the life of a U.S. serviceman ofJapanese origin working as a crew member on a nuclear-powered aircraftcarrier.

The carrier USS George Washington will be deployed to the U.S. naval base in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture in August.

This unprecedented public relations exercise is aimed at deepeninglocal residents' understanding about what living on the carrier islike.
