UAE has grown outrageously in a very short period. All the seven emirates have contributed towards the excellence of the state in varied areas. The government has played a vital role in the nation's overall growth. Visible in all fields, the governmental strategy is quite clear in imparting elegance in its approach. The tradition of the country, in fact the very national heritage, has become principle in the organization of the government.

The middle-east shares the prestige of having rulers elected on the basis of lineage. The fast moving world has forgotten the past days of similar governmental organizations in many countries. The arrival of the revolutionary idea of democracy gave hope of better governance in many countries, but to consider the cultural environment, the public too has been in favour of the present rule.

UAE has adopted several policies from other nations in the path of its growth, nevertheless have they compromised to the dynastic position that the rulers hold, based on a tribal consensus. The speed, in which developments occur in UAE, has been in all ways favourable to the emirates. This in turn has made the public conscious enough to be concerned about many other areas, rather into the power concept. The nationals avail free access to health and education, besides subsidies on various commodities and other privileges, solely contributed by the rulers who head the government.

With regard to the public opinion, monarchy in UAE enjoys great esteem, after having witnessed the plight of democracy in some countries over the world. In some parts of the middle-east, we have instances of trying out possibilities of democracy which has not yielded ends as expected. One of our neighboring states being Kuwait, has implemented traits of democracy in its government, apparently not successful compared to the waves of growth by the present government in UAE.

The present situation in UAE does not indicate timidity towards politics. In fact, the efforts by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan since 2005, towards a partially elected parliament in the UAE government, are noteworthy. The recent election, held in 2006 is in fact a humble step towards bringing awareness over universal suffrage among the citizens of the country. This indeed shows that the government considers it a part of their agenda to change the appointments of rulers over the country. This will not require dismantling the present government pattern, but a change though gradual modification. The timely changes which they bring within the system are widely appreciated.

The Supreme Council of the federation points towards something more than monarchy and thus interprets the federal pattern of the government. The Supreme Council, Council of Ministers, the Federal National Council, and the Local government, altogether gets to the core of a federal system. Amidst of the massive economic growth and problems of over-population, the federation has been stable and highly acclaimed for all its efforts.

Past years of peace and prosperity has influenced the public over the emirates, who generally reflect their respect towards the rulers. The nationals in the emirates only constitute around 10% of the whole population of the UAE. The social changes that take place in most of the democratic countries does not occur in UAE, economic well being of the national brought into consideration, which also results in a way over the stability of the government.

The infrastructural developments in this part of the world harps at the doorstep, the glamour of the government. The government is concerned about the nation and it takes care of the citizens in the best of its manner. UAE could never be challenged as to the 'modernity' concept; it serves as an embryo of the world in all.
