Linda Katehi: Chancellor vs Hundreds of Silent Students

In the aftermath of the police attack on student protesters at Occupy UC Davis, Linda Katehi gave a press conference to explain why she ordered campus police to use military-grade pepper-spray on students at point-blank range. Students were not invited.

However, hundreds of UC Davis sutdents waited for her outside, and Linda Katehi had to do the ultimate walk of shame past hundreds of silent students. The video, which you can see below, is fairly intense.

After promising "a full review of events" (as if video evidence hadn't already gone viral), Linda Katehi was afraid to leave the building, and hunkered down in Surge II for three hours. Eventually, though, she had to leave, and the students of UCD were waiting.

UC Davis Faculty Association: Linda Katehi Must Resign

Boing Boing describes the event as "what looks like [Linda Katehi's] perp walk".

She says she has no intention to resign, but the UC Davis Faculty Association Board wants Linda Katehi gone, saying that her actions constitute "a gross failure of leadership".

The two cops who pepper-sprayed the students are on administrative leave.
