Actor Michael Brea: Appeared In Ugly Betty - Accused Of Killing Mom With Samurai Sword In Brooklyn Home

In a bizarre and awful incident, actor Michael Brea, has been arrested for allegedly killing his mom, Yannick Brea, with a Samurai Sword, while police apparently refused to enter the home despite the screams.

When cops finally went inside the Prospect Heights home, they found Yannick Brea slain by her samurai sword-wielding son in a blood-spattered apartment.

"I could hear her groaning inside ... She was still alive, but they wouldn't go in," said Clinton Clare, 52, who lived in the apartment below the Brea family.

Michale Brea, 31, who once had a small part on the TV show Ugly Betty, has been taken to Kings County Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

Gregory Clare, 25, whose father owns the building, said his dad gave the OK for four cops to break down the door.

"They just kept saying protocol this and protocol that," he said. "Now a woman's dead who should be alive if only the police would have listened."

NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly questioned neighbor accounts of the delay, saying he believed officers handled the situation properly.
