UK - Four Teens Dead, Fifth Fighting For Life
The incident happened while they weredriving home after a night out. It was not reported weather alcohol was a factor.
Four 18-year-olds were killed and their friend was left fighting for his life today after their tiny Ford Fiesta car slewed off a road and hit a tree.
All five victims were unconscious and trapped in the wreckage. A rescuer told how one of them died in his arms as he waited for ambulances to arrive.
The occupants of the Fiesta were left sprawled in the car following the horrific crash.
A spokesman for the police said: "Four people were declared dead atthe scene. A fifth person was airlifted by helicopter to the JohnRadcliffe Hospital at Oxford where he remains in a critical condition.
"The road was closed for several hours to allow access for emergency vehicles and collision investigators."
Thebodies were taken to the mortuary and a pathologist was expected tocarry out post mortem examinations on all four victims in the next fewdays.
An inquest into their deaths will be opened and adjourned by the Buckinghamshire coroner, Richard Hulett in the next few days.
