A gay man in London was out celebrating his new job when he was verbally assaulted by 2 young women who hurled homophobic remarks at him.
He was then kicked to unconsciousness and died in the hospital Thursday.  The girls remain at large.
A GAY man out celebrating a new job was kicked to death by two blonde teen girls.

Ian Baynham, 62, had ticked them off for yelling homophobic abuse.

A youth with the girls punched the civil servant, who had just started a post with the Home Office.

Then the girls screamed anti-gay insults while kicking him as he lay helpless.

CCTV cameras caught them LAUGHING after the 10.45pm attack in London's Trafalgar Square on September 25.

DCI Alexis Boon said: "This was a vicious homophobic attack."

Ian, of Beckenham, Kent, suffered brain damage.

His life support was switched off on Tuesday.

Neighbour Claire Tyler, 32, said: "It's hard to believe someone can still be murdered because of their sexuality." The suspects were aged 16 to 20.

Yes,  the London police are treating this as a homophobic hate crime,  as they well should.  It is horrible,  and I could scarcely believe my eyes when I came upon the headline.  I hope they are brought to justice quickly.  :(  thanks for recommend.  smk

"Clockwork Orange". The author had it right.

Could have been about being gay. Could have been about nothing important.

Was really about "The Lord of the Flies".

These two women totally, but totally, represent the loss of the feminine.

Thank you very much, Gloria Steinem for helping to make for a "better, kinder" patriarchy by getting the women to be just like us!

I just re-read this story. Evidently there is a third person---

"A youth with the girls punched the civil servant, who had just started a post with the Home Office.

Then the girls screamed anti-gay insults while kicking him as he lay helpless."

Dear Lord, I'd not even heard about this. Yes, the girls will be caught for sure.

"Ian Baynham, 62, had ticked them off for yelling homophobic abuse."

Is that sentence correct as written?    Makes no sense unless the victim started the whole nasty mess.

I think it must be the British version of " he had admonished them for making homophobic remarks" :  In the US "ticked them off "  means got them angry,  in London it must mean "rebuked them".  It is clear that the gay man would not have been yelling homophobic remarks.

Yes,  Rhonda,  the young male punched him ( bad enough)  but the girls appear to have finished him off by kicking him in the head as he lie helpless.  I suppose all 3 will be charged if caught.  It seems the London press is focusing on the search for the 2 girls.

Well,  why would you say such a thing about this man?  Did you know him personally?  How on earth did these girls committing murder,  and in turn destroying their own lives,  improve society?  Is it because he was gay that you have such intense negativity toward him?  Explain, please.
