UK Goverment Prefers Sex To Snow Patrol
Schools and work places remained empty due to heavy falls of snow causing dangerous road conditions to many up and down UK. Council work's ran out of salt to grit the roads after a fortnight leaving villages and B roads not gritted for over a week, some places even longer. Hospitals were filled up with broken ankles as many slipped on dangerous frozen ice on the path, that weren,t gritted, the elderly were left to die in there homes, despite there local neighbourhood calling there council to make them aware of the situation of age concern on there door step.
Tempretures were colder than inside a freezer in some parts of the UK leaving many familys and the elderly unable to put there heating on as unable to afford it since the recent increase in fuel prices. Shops were shut as stafff couldn't get into work, leaving what shops were open for the public to panic buy with essentials like milk and bread, so shops were soon sold out by afternoon but re stock was out the question as deliverys found it impossible to reach them through the thick snow roads. Cars were slidding into parked cars, pipes bursting. Plus many holiday makers spent there saved and paid for holiday at the airports as Easy Jet were reported to have cancelled over 300 flights in oneday. Trains also were cancelled due to track and snow conditions leaving everyone stranded.
Most countrys have snow yet carry on with there daily routine without a problem yet soon as UK gets white fluffy snow it comes to a standstill.
However the UK Goverment were aware of the January 2010 snow before the rest of us. So why didn't they stock up on salt for to grit the roads? Instead councils were running out after a fortnight. Few months earlier UK Goverment were found to be hiring sex dvd's from Blockbuster, having a second home for there young teenage lovers, having holidays, or even buying a silly yet expensive oriment for there fish pond and getting us the british tax payers to fork there bill. Then months later putting there voters at risk by not orginising and arranging protection from the dangerous snow storm that was about to hit Britain.
UK Insurance company RSA predicts that a day of severe snow could cost Britain's economy as much as £690m and as much as £14bn over three weeks.
Whilst were still suffering from the snow of January 2010 many across UK will wake up to floods and heavy rain which will increase the insurance claims.
We all like to point the finger and blame someone else if it falls apart or doesn,t go to plan. However once again it seem's the UK Goverment are the one's this time to blame. Maybe if they had stocked up in salt then we there voters, may have at least felt they were thinking of them instead of constantly using us to line there pockets and pay for there expensive holidays with there toyboy or meals out whilst many can just about put a meal together to put on the table for there family.
Gordon Brown wants our vote yet constantly does the opposit to what his voters belive in or work hard for. Instead of ploughing money into the british automotive industry, there one by one closing there doors and sadly having no other choice but to do thousands of lay off and set up business in France, Germany ect. Whislt we still have our men and women away from loved ones fighting he goes and shuts RAF Cottesmore, saying he has to do this to save money. Then you switch on your television to see Goverment advertisments asking our young to join up as desperatly need more armed forces. You switch over to unfortunatly then see another hero brought home as Wootton Bassett line there streets.
UK Goverment smile and become our friends when its time to get our vote but isn't it about time they put us first all year and not just when its the election...???

Good article, but you might want to use a spellchecker next time.

I remember from living in London how the whole country came to a halt when it snowed even a little bit, I think they need to learn to prepare for snow in coming years.

The streets are too narrow so they need to make more one-way streets. London's answer to snow is let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. A massive effort would be required to change their approach to snow removal --both to change people behavior in cooperating and making the investment to improve road traffic.
Don't cross your fingers.
