The UK Goverment has come under fire from privacy experts because it refused to upgrade computer browsers from Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, a version no longer supported by Microsoft.
“The government rejected a petition that it upgrade from IE6. The government in its response says that there is "no evidence" that upgrading away from the "latest fully patched versions of Internet Explorer to other browsers will make users more secure."
Last September Microsoft urged the Government to upgrade because IE 6 was outdated and had known security vulnerability's.
Weather or not other Goverment agencies will follow suit in upgrading remains to be seen.

Hundreds of Vistas systems at full price?
If a private company operated that way they would soon be in financial difficulty, at least not making a good return on their investment. Oh wait, the Government is in financial trouble! LOL
