Parents who refuse to control their criminal children are to be thrown out of government housing in the UK under a new plan set to be unveiled today.

Parents who fail to take responsibility for their unruly offspring will be thrown out of council accomodation or be forced to attend intensive classes under the Government's heavily-trailed youth crime strategy, set to be unveiled today by ministers.

The measures come after the Government were accused of taking a U-turn in their plans to crack down on knife crime.

Faced with widespread derision after having announced on Sunday that knife offenders should be forced to visit their victims in hospital, Jacqui Smith, the Home Secretary, denied having done so and insisted she had only proposed that criminals meet doctors to hear about the consequences of their actions.

Dave Keating, I like this story. It's good stuff.

That is a hard issue to handle objectively!
