A 16-year old girl has run away from her home in the UK with a 49-year-old man she met on the internet. Now a police investigation has revealed that the man she ran away with is on bail after being accused of a rape.

A man who police fear has run away with a schoolgirl he met on the internet is on bail pending a rape investigation, it was revealed.

Robert Williams, 49, was arrested in connection with the rape of a 16-year-old girl last month.

Humberside Police are currently searching for Williams and 15-year-old Laura Stainforth.

The teenager, from Cleethorpes, north-east Lincolnshire, went missing last Wednesday and detectives believe she went off with Williams after arranging to meet him through a website.

Laura was last seen by her parents when she left home to go to the shops at about 3.30pm on Wednesday.
