U.K. Checkouts Fail across the Country

Hundreds of shoppers around the UK were left unable to pay for groceries recently after hundreds of registers went down across the Country.

Hundreds of shoppers were unable to make purchases when checkouts would not accept debit and credit card transactions.

A spokesman from Barclaycard stated "We have established that the issue was caused by a systems error which impacted the ability to authorize transactions."

This is the second glitch for Barlcays in the last two months. In August a systems crash at Barclays meant thousands of UK customers were unable to access their bank accounts or withdraw money from cash machines.

Shoppers experienced frustration and chaos when supermarket checkouts at Sainsbury's and Waitrose, British supermarkets crashed recently.

The one thing that gets me about shopping in the UK is that fellow shoppers like to bump into you. If the want around, they aren't polite, they just bump.

That is very true Jim, I was born in England and lived there until around 13 yrs ago. I did not fully realize just how different things really are until one of my return trips. I remember thinking how rude some people were in the supermarkets and I remember bieng bumped several times.
