UK Terror Raids: a different Take

For the benefit of my esteemed readers I would like to draw the attention to “undeniable evidence justifying the war against Iraq which was found to be a pack of lies the main architect being Robert Gates

Feeding from the war frenzy the British Police managed to shot dead Charles De Menez a Brizilian innocent traveler who was mistaken for a Pakistani and shot 7 times in the head.Later the police regretted that he was a Brazilian not a Pakistani. The regret was for the wrong nationality not for the fact that whether the person was innocent or not.

Moving to the present times in South Asia we have America’s war of Terror we have Afghanistan and Pakistan taking the full brunt of it. While Pakistan fights the Taliban and suffers the terror attacks on daily bases we have US and Indian officials accusing Pakistan on regular bases for having contacts with Taliban and not doing enough to defeat the Taliban and stop them from causing problems for America.
Now our Prime Minister is singing in tune with US asking Pakistan to do more.

Gordon Brown has said Pakistan needs to do more to root out terrorism after police thwarted a suspected al-Qaeda bomb plot in north-west England.
He spoke after police were forced to bring forward arrests of 12 suspects, 11 of them Pakistanis, after a security blunder by Britain's anti-terror chief.
Assistant Commissioner Bob Quick resigned after he was photographed with clearly visible secret documents. Mr Brown said police had to move early to foil "a very big terrorist plot".

If you have managed to patiently read this far then I request you to stay with me for few more minutes regarding the reality of Pakistani Students coming to West. This is what is going in the mind of a Pakistani Student upon arriving

My Parents have paid dearly for the fee and I must not fail them
I need to make sure I fit in the university
I need to find work, any work to pay for the expenses and send some money back
I need to be careful with the people as I am a total stranger
I don’t need to be out at night or any place which is not safe for foreigners
I t is really embarrassing asking for directions or help from the people as they don’t seem to like my accent.
I should keep my head down as foreigners are not really welcome
I should make enough money and when I get home my parents will be proud

Likelihood of a foreign student being a terrorist

Now compare all this with the allegations that the terror suspects are all Pakistanis on student visas. Leaves me with wondering that the people who don’t get enough time after studies or late night work at take aways and other shops have enough time and resources to plot a terror plot in a country they have recently arrived?

What makes them a likely and easy target for police? They are foreigners and most likely no one here to speak for them and refute the allegations. they dont have friends or family here who can give you a diffferent version of story from what the police is telling you.
They don’t even have the understanding about their rights and what is happening to them
They happen to be Muslims and the nationals of a country which happens to be a target of US and Indian slander campaign and the militancy of Taliban.

On the positive side if all what is claimed is true then we are fortunate that a big terror plot is foiled as the government claims. But there are various incidents like Charles De Menez and shooting of one of the 2 Muslim brothers in east London which suggested that government was trying to get the people’s attention away from them when it was being heavily criticized. These arrests will definitely please US and India and cause more trouble for Pakistan if this is the only reason for this action today then it is shameful.

Like everyone I will wait for credible proof that this operation was not a sham to appease US and play a joint US game to keep Pakistan under political pressure. Below is the link of the story where the Police chief had to apologise for a police raid on innocent Muslim family which was shown on the media as a big terror operation back in 2006.

"I am aware that in mounting this operation we have caused disruption and inconvenience to many residents in Newham and for that I apologise," he said.

Normally its the British Born Muslims going to Pakistan to fight Pakistan Army and US forces in Afghanistan and support Taliban.

this seems to hard to belive that a person on a student visa with limited means to support and a financial burden can risk a terror plot in a totally foreign soil without any local knowledge and know how, who can barely speak to get his way arround. too far fetched for me.

are you sure Roy? I you suggesting police found 500 tons of uranium in the flats of the suspects.. boy those flats must be a size of a stadium to get all that quantity there.

It's useful idiots and apologist that would rather we just gave in to fear and terrorism. Rather than to confront it.

In Pakistan or in Brazil like in other failed nation states people get buped off as a matter of daily life.

Immigrants that keep being critical of Britain forget that in their own countries they are unable to enjoy freedom of expression as we enjoy in the UK. This freedom is exploited by terrorists, criminals, their agents and sympathisers.

I have no wish in going to live in a failed nation state since I know what to expect, I just do not fit into that way of life. Places like Saudi, Colombia, Mexico, India they are not reputed for freedom of thought. I would not mind a vist but I'd never go to live there.

Not happy in Blighty? A one way ticket is not beyond the means of a tolerant accountant by profession who believes in mutual respect except if confronted with continued arrogance & stupidity.

Your loyalties are confused. You'r out of place in Paquistan as in most Islamic nations. You've experienced this alienation, it's deep within you. Yet you can not help resenting the freedom and opportunities available in Britain.

Sure it's not perfect but this is as good as it gets mate!

I say don’t you have the guts to respond with your actual login? After all you made the effort mate.
Are the people not supposed to have a different point of view? Are you attacking that Asian bloke because of the colour of his skin right? What if I had said the same? I am white English (not British) born and bred and I will say what I think is right.

This is the kind of attitude against which we stood up in world war and defeated the fascism having different sets of rules for us and the immigrants who live here doesn’t make us any better than the xenophobic bigots who shamelessly deny holocaust and justify the deaths of 6 million Jews.

This government and the last prime Minster dragged us into American war. Our boys are paying the price of this misadventure by their blood. Did you ever care to think what are they going through? And what is happening to them when they come back? While this Gorden Brown is filling the pockets of people like Fred the Shred.

thanks for the insight. my loyalties are not confused I am a proud British and am willing to protect its soveignity and freedom there is no doubt about it.

see you mention the lack of freedom of ecxpression and thought in the places like Saudi arabia and India yet you dont like it when someone like me takes a different view on things. honestly the way I have seen things they are not always the way our Goverments have claimed them to be.

did you read my last paragraph? I am not dismissing the possibility that this was a genuine operation that stopped a major terror attack.

I guess it is you who resents the freedom of expression of people like us in here.

never mind all I got to say is that the British law of freedom was not based on the color of the skin and the country of origin and whether it suited someone else. it is the self check and criticism that has kept us better than the nations in the east.
