So far blog sites are filled with "articles" suggests that India may be behind the attack on Sri Lankan cricket team that took place on 3rd March, 2009.  One of the articles even projects the photo copy of an "official" document that contains the word "secret" in it.  (Reminds me of a scene from the movie Independent day  in which a computer virus is being uploaded to the bad alian mothership with messages like "uploading virus now" and "virus uploaded" ). Interesting article they were, so I decided to google around for information. Found some further interesting views and questions about this attack in the web. Links are provided for reference.

1. Some uncomforable and unanswered questions I noticed

a. Why was the Pakistani team delayed? Asked By Chris Brod, mach referee. On the first two days [of the Test] both buses left at the same time with escorts. On this particular day the Pakistan bus left five minutes after the Sri Lankan bus. Why?

 b. How many police vehicles and officers were protecting the Sri Lankan team when it was  attacked? According the Chris Brod, no sign of a policeman anywhere.

 c. Why were the police unable to kill or capture any of the gunmen?

Mehar Mohammed Khalil, the driver of the Sri Lankan said: "I thought it was very strange that the  bullets fired by the elite police didn't hit the attackers."

 d. If the teams were promised presidential level security (jamming devices, bullet-proof vehicles  etc), why was it not provided?

Chris Broad and the players said Pakistani officials had promised to give them “presidential style"  security as part of efforts to convince them to make the trip.

2. Forensic evidence lost due to carelessness.

LAHORE: Important forensic evidence was destroyed by the ill-equipped and careless ‘experts’ while collecting samples from the crime scene of attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, investigation and forensic experts told Daily Times on Wednesday.

Forensics expert Dr Ahsan said investigators in Pakistan usually did not care about preserving fingerprints, which hindered the investigation process.

Criminal law expert Aftab Ahmed Bajwa said there was no need of collecting the intact evidence material from crime scenes as Pakistan lacked fully-equipped forensic laboratories that could bear excellent results.

Aftab said only authorised people could touch the recovered material, and that too in a specified manner. He said it had always been ignored in Pakistan, and even authorised people of the forensic department did not adopt the method, hence losing the evidence to be sent to laboratories.

3. Who is going to benifit from this attack?

Last but not the least, who is going to benefit from this attack? India? not a bit. Primary beneficiary of today’s attempt on Sri Lankan cricket team is PPP, Salman Taseer and, eventually, Asif Ali Zardari. Now, leaders and supporters of PML-N dare not to come on roads for protest and those who fancy Long March would prefer to stay at home. The smoke of confusion and chaos is going to thicken in days to come, so as to play down the political activities by anti-government elements.
