UN demands restitution of Honduran President Zelaya at once
Caracas, Venezuela, 30 June 2009. After hearnig his intervention at the UN General Assembly in New York, delegates approved by unanimity a "resolution calling for the reinstatement of ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya". "The resolution calls "firmly and categorically on all states to recognise no government other than that" of Mr Zelaya. It was co-sponsored by a group of Latin American and Caribbean nations and was supported by the United States". Momentum is taking pace as the OAS will issue a new resolution today against the imposed tyranny in Honduras.
There is a General strike going on in Honduras. Spontaneous demonstrations for Manuel Zelaya are taking place now. They intend to walk towards the Presidential Palace in Tegucigalpa. As Radio and TV control have been set up by the current Tyranny, people have used word of mouth to organize their protests. On the other hand, there is also a pro Tyranny demonstration taking place. As ordered by Tyrant Roberto Micheletti, it is broadcasted by the intervened Honduran local media.
President Zelaya is expected in Tegucigalpa on Thursday. He will be escorted by the Presidents of Ecuador, Rafael Correa and the Argentinean Head of State, Cristina Fernandez. The OAS Secretary General and the President of the General Assembly, Miguel d`Escoto, will also accompany Zelaya. In reaction, the Honduran tyranny has issued a detention order against Manuel Zelaya.
