UN Representative Denounces Human Rights Abuse in Moldova
According to Radio Romania International reports, the UN Representative in Moldova whose name is Edwin Berry visited one of the prisons where 40 people have been held after the disturbances in Moldova.
Mr. Berry received reports about beatings and being poorly fed. He also received reports about the prisoners not having access to a lawyer. Dorin Chirotoaca who is the Mayor of Chisinau from the Liberal Party has prepared a report containing medical certificates, photos, videos, and audios of those who have been arrested.
The head of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova Vlad Fillat has denounced the fact that the names of some people who were arrested does not appear in the list of arrested people prepared by the Interior Ministry. Mr. Fillat commented about how these people who are not in any list are not in universities or homes.
