I am completely serious you can SEE the lack of industry from space. Construction Rental of Venice has all it's equipment in the lot, from their driveway you can see the Hansen Pipe Building with it's huge closed doors. The pipes used to be stacked so tall you could not see the building from the road. Now you see stacks no more than 2 high. Hansen has had the doors closed for a week after running 24/7 for years! http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=27.082074,-82.42659&z=17&t=h&hl=en

You can see the economic depression and unemployment from SPACE!

Actually I need to go make a vid of the places now to compare to. The Google images are about 4 years old and show what it looks like when construction was going pretty strong. You can see bridges and roads being built commercial buildings being re-roofed and land being cleared.

I have noticed job listings on Craigs List have been reduced to people looking for contractors to supply license information for Building permits, and dodging the county red tape, and people complaining about jobs they did or didn't get from Craigs list posters, and of course people looking for work.

I talked to one of the draftsmen at a local Engineering company. I asked how it was looking as far as new development. He said with a stunned look "we're dead, we have nothing coming up". He said they have a few small projects but nothing substantial. He said they only have 10 people left on the payroll when thay had 50. This company clears land and sets the storm drains and roads and utilities for housing developments , golf courses and shoping centers. They do road projects for the state, county and cities. They have dump-trucks and grade equipment and track hoes and loaders all sitting there. I have never seen them with no work.

Hansen pipe company still has the doors locked.
