Against War and Campus Military Recruitment
The Denton TX activist group |UA|, along with other student groups, are organizing a student walkout and rally at the campus of University of North Texas Denton, TX beginning at 9:11 am on April 7th and continuing every first Monday of the month thereafter. The rally is meant to call attention to the war in Iraqi/Afghanistan, the responsibility of UNT for letting the Armed Forces actively recruit on campus, and a call for students to organize counter-recruitment groups. Several on and off campus organizations will be on hand for this historic event.

*** Students will be walking out EVERY first Monday of each month until the war/s are over and students are allowed real free speech. Why We're Walking Out
The walkout and rally is meant to call attention to the war in Iraqi/Afghanistan, the responsibility of UNT for letting the Armed Forces actively recruit on campus, and a call for students to organize counter-recruitment groups.
Primary Demands
- Counter Recruitment Organization An on and off campus organization must be allowed to hold meetings and activities on and off campus.
- NT Daily We ask NT Daily to stop posting adds from the military.
- Military History Department We ask that the UNT Military History Department add a wing within its department that teaches a military historical perspective from the peoples point of view- i.e like nonviolent military historians and strategists like Gene Sharp, Peter Ackerman, and Jack Duvall.
- Free Speech UNT must allow picketing & peaceful protests in all public places on campus- this includes holding signs, passing fliers, passing petitions, and holding groups meetings or forums- as long as these gatherings are not blocking public walkways of course.
- Full Troop Withdraw & Stoppage of Military Spending In Iraq/Afghanastan We will continue organizing until the war/s end, and our war profiteering companies stop their campaigns for putting profit before the people.
- We Demand Support of Students, Staff, Faculty, Alumni We ask UNT to respect peaceful nonviolent students, staff, faculty, alumni, and citizens in speaking out at the University of North Texas via this walkout and other protests in regards to war/s and campus military recruitment.
*** If these demands are not carried out in their complete compliance, students, staff, faculty, alumni, and Denton citizens will continue the the walkouts. Saying you will fix the problem is not enough.
*** Saying that you are fixing the problem is NOT enough. These demands must be carried out completely and or the nonviolent peaceful protests will continue EVERY first Monday of each month.
***Until the war/s end and a full withdraw of troops is completed.
How you can help promoting the walkout:
- Most importantly, keep this walkout message on the chalkboards of all classes in all buildings at ALL times. Make sure to also keep chalk in front of busy buildings on the concrete. This has a HUGE impact. A tub of colored chalk at Voertmans is approximately 3$'s- very cheap- very effective.
- Take this attached information and make a flier- copy, and distribute EVERYWHERE! Many have access to computers and people who make fliers- if you make a flier, make sure to send us one: unitedlove_all1@yahoo.com
- Tell people to do the same as what we're all doing via this message.
