Missing Student Gerald Smith Found Deceased Friday Evening

What kind of sick irony is it that Gerald Smith's body was recovered just hours before he was scheduled to graduate from college?  He even had a job lined up during this pitfall economy where any college student would jump hoops for a chance at a "real job".  Gerald Smith was an optimist just at the beginning of his quest of life; ready to endure and face its challenges and amazing experiences. 

Gerald's life was supposed to start TODAY, yet it officially ended last night at 7:30 p.m. after he was found in a park along the banks of the Wabash River in Vincennes, Indiana.  Instead of graduating, he is on a coroner's cold slab.  His mother is accepting his diploma and there will be a great moment of silence in his honor.  

It makes you think of yourself, your family and your friends wondering what IF something happened to you or them?  It makes you cherish life a little more.  It makes you think twice before complaining about Monday mornings, traffic jams, and the rat race called life.

All those little inconveniences vanish the moment that a tragedy like this happens to a family and community.
