Update on Northwest Arkansas Ice Storm 2009: Reporting Damages
From a bulletin sent by my college to the campus community today. The information applies to Arkansas residents only:
"Reporting instructions to obtain federal assistance in ice storm recovery
The telephone number that has been set up to take information on any loss from the ice storm is 888-683-2336. Governor Mike Beebe has set this number up to gather information to support his request for federal funding to assist in the cost of this storm. The number is open 7 days a week from 8AM to 8PM. The governor requests that all citizens who suffered losses due to the storm to call in and provide the following information: name, address, county of residence, type of damages received and an estimate of the cost of these damages. Any type of damage that this storm created needs to be reported. A list of such damages might include the following:
· House damage
· Tree loss and damage
· Automobile damage
· Lost food items (from freezer and refrigerator) due to power outage
· Lost work time and wages
It is very important for everyone to submit a report of damages. The more people who call increases the chance of getting federal assistance. You may want to forward this information to your friends and family in the area too."

We lost alot of food, many trees were damaged, gutters were damaged on our home, and our fences were torn down.
